Jerry Universe · The original
Jerry – Idle Cat, the original Jerry game
Jerry – Idle Cat is the first Jerry game: a free browser idler where you take care of one fat cat and he takes all the credit. Feed him, keep him comfortable and watch the idle numbers keep climbing while he does nothing at all. It runs in your browser, needs no account and saves your progress in your own browser.
Current build: v1.9.1. The in-game changelog lists the dated history. The project's AI disclosure (art, audio, writing, code) is on the Infinite Jerry itch.io page.
It is also where the rest of the Jerry Universe started. Infinite Jerry is the monster-catching RPG that came out of the same broken multiverse, Every Seat Filled is a podcast about creatives and world builders, Opening the Multiverse is the book about the systems behind all of it, and the Couch Department collects the merchandise concepts. Jerry was not consulted about any of it.
Infinite Jerry, the newer game, is free and playable on itch.io right now. The Jerry every game is drawn from is a real cat; his photo is on the home page.
How to play
- Pick a build at the start; each one plays a little differently.
- Feed, train and upgrade Jerry, then let the idle timer work while you come back later.
- Progress and settings are saved in your own browser, so clearing site data starts over.
- Gameplay analytics are optional, off until you say yes, and the game plays the same either way.
